Fourth Game

This game we picked up a new player, Jiffy.  As he is our 5th player total, he is likely the last to be added to our group.  He played alongside myself and Ron.  Jiffy chose first and took the Enclave of the Bear.  He started in Brazil.  I chose next and took Khan Industries and started in Scandinavia.  Ron chose last and took Imperial Balkania.  He started in Indonesia.  No scar cards were delt out as we only had one available.

During the game, I was hemmed in by both players to the left and right of me.  I was able to control Europe for a couple of turns, but Jiffy quickly took North and South America while Ron had Bobstralia and most of Asia.  Jiffy was left mainly alone and built up until his victory was inevitable.  Since Ron felt he could not stop Jiffy at the end, they decided to gang up and eliminate me from the game.

My elimination resulted in the corresponding packet being opened.  It contained a set of powers, one of which was to be awarded to a faction when it is eliminated from the game.  It also had mercenary scar cards.  Note that even if you get this packet mid-game, you can't really use anything provided in the current game.

For end-game rewards, Jiffy founded a major city in Central America called Jiffjuana and Ron founded a minor city in India called Cow Town.

Ooops, rule change.

Before today, I thought that you could have either a city or a scar in a territory, not both.  After reading some posts on boardgamegeek.com and the rulebook, I found you can have both.  For instance, a major city and a bunker.  I hope the other players take it well when I tell them, next game.

Third Game

For the third game (3/20/12), Bob was not there, but we picked up a new player, Doug.  Ron chose Khan Industries and started in Rondesia.  Doug chose Imperial Balkania and started in Scandinavia.

Doug won the game by making a stabbing strike from Europe to Ron's HQ while controling my HQ.  For his reward, He founded Brindleburg in Argentina.  I founded Apple Valley (where we camp each year) in Greenland and Ron put a coin on the New Guinea territory card.

Second Game

Our second game took place during our annual 'camping' on 3/10/12.  At Bob's request, the same three starting players participated in the second game.  Ron chose the Enclave of the Bear again and started in Australia (not sure which one).  Bob chose Khan Industries and the starting power, "At the start of your turn, place one troop in each territory that has a HQ you control.  Bob started in Central America.  I chose the Imperial Balkania and the starting power, "You still draw a resource card at the end of a turn where you expanded into 4+ territories, even if you didn't conquer a territory."  I started in Central Africa.

During the game, a bunker was placed in North Africa (by Ron).  A Ammunition Shortage scar was placed in Central Africa (by Bob).  A bunker was placed in Russia (by me).  Ron won, but I forget how.

For rewards, Ron founded a major city in Indonesia named Rondonesia.  Bob founded a minor city in Peru named Lima.  I founded a minor city in Iceland named Cocksmack (a popular term in our group).

First Game

The players for our first session were myself (Nick), Ron and Bob.  Our start date was 2/21/12.  I let the players choose their starting faction and the starting power of the faction.  Factions that were not chosen would be assigned starting powers in future games.  Ron chose the Enclave of the Bear and the starting power, "The defender subtracts 1 from his lower defense die in the first territory you attack during your turn."  Bob chose the Saharan Republic and the starting power, "When making your maneuver, you may maneuver between any two territories you control, even if they are not connected."  Bob thought that you could only maneuver between directly adjacent territories and did not fully understand the final maneuver rule.  I chose Die Mechaniker and the starting ability, "You starting HQ is always treated as FORTIFIED when you defend it."

I dealt out the territory deck randomly to the three players and let them decide where 4 coin stickers should be placed.  My 3-year-old son chose for me.

Ron started in East Africa, Bob in Afghanistan and I started in Brazil.  During the game a Ammunition Shortage scar was placed in the Eastern United States and a Bunker was placed in Kamchatka.  The end game came when I advised Bob to try and take over both my and Ron's HQ from his territory in Central America.

For our rewards, Bob decided to name Bobstralia, Ron founded the minor city of I Ron in the Middle East and I founded the minor city of Regensburg (birthplace of my mother) in Northern Europe.
